Blues Jam Band: The Wailin' Monks

Cameron Scott (sax & vocals) you will recognize from his Thursday-night hosting at the Howling Coyote.  Everybody knows Carl Owens (percussion) because of the killer beat he provides for Houston recording artists, the Shadowcasters.  Don Thomas (bass & vocals) is a New Orleans transplant.  I heard him sing/play at the Dan Electrol's jam and thought I had died and gone to music heaven.  The last member, Jonn Richardson, garnered The Albert King Award at the 2005 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, for Most Promising Guitarist.

Tuesdays, the hottest blues jam plays at The Abbey Pub, designed to attract the very best talent to "sit in" and to provide an uncompromising listening experience for the discriminating.
